Uses of the Progressive Conditional Perfect

This verb tense refers to the incomplete result of the action of the if clause and expresses this result as a continuous or unfinished action.

Tercer Condicional o Condicional Tipo III.

If the weather had been better (but it wasn't), my sister-in-law would have been sitting in the garden when I arrived (but she wasn't and so I didn't see her).

If the youngsters had known it was dangerous, they would not have been climbing such a mountain.

If I had had more money, I would have been travelling all around Europe with my friends that summer.
